The various departments of the Canton of Berne use different software for template management. As the software used by the Department of Home Affairs (DIJ) needed to be replaced, it launched a public tender in 2023 to procure a successor solution. 

In a step towards the canton-wide standardization of software solutions, the DIJ was joined by the

  • Bildungs- und Kulturdirektion (BKD)
  • Gesundheits-, Sozial- und Integrationsdirektion (GSI)
  • Sicherheitsdirektion (SID)
  • Bau- und Verkehrsdirektion (BVD)

in this publication. PrimeSoft submitted the best offer in this tender and thus won the tender for the procurement of a new template management tool with its primedocs solution.

Solution description

The Canton of Bern uses the primedocs Suite, which enables significant efficiency gains and compliance with the corporate design in document creation in the Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook modules.

PrimeSoft also relies on automation through a self-developed conversion tool when transferring the numerous existing third-party templates to primedocs. This allows the majority of third-party templates to be automatically and therefore highly efficiently transferred to primedocs templates, which are then fine-tuned and finalized by template specialists.
